Which line spacing should I use?
Ruled paper spacing usually falls into a few standard bands. Narrow ruled (about 1/4 in, 6.35 mm) fits more lines per page and suits adults with small, dense handwriting. College ruled (about 9/32 in, 7.1 mm) is the most common notebook spacing in the US — a comfortable default for most adult handwriting and note-taking. Wide ruled (about 3/8 in, 9.5 mm) gives beginning writers, younger students, or anyone with larger handwriting more room per line.
